Confirmation

The Sacrament of Confirmation is generally celebrated in the Diocese at the age of 14 or year 9 of school. It can be celebrated at an earlier or later age depending on pastoral circumstances. Classes will generally take place from around November/December until the Sacrament is celebrated by the Bishop in the Summer. The Sacrament is one of commitment and empowerment – we cannot fully live our Christian Commitment without the aid of the Holy Spirit who is fully imparted in this Sacrament. Those who are to be married in the Church are encouraged to receive this Sacrament if they haven’t already done so.
