BACKGROUND TO THE PROJECT
A major project for St Georges church in 2003 and 2004 was the restoration and re-positioning of the pipe organ. This is of great historical significance due to the age and origins of the organ. The project has been supported by money from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the restoration was completed in 2005.
MUSIC FOR A SUMMERS EVENING CD
Captured on CD, the very first concert performed on the newly restored Pipe Organ.
Led by Terence Charlston (Organ) and The Georgian Ensemble (Leader Rachel Rowntree).
Featuring the music of Handel, Bach, Mozart, Stanley, Leighton & others.
This will be of special interest to those interested in the Irish/American connection in the vast history of St Georges Church.
